Trash and Restoring Deleted Items
Deleting in Notoria moves documents and folders to Trash instead of removing them right away. Trashed items can be restored for 30 days before they are permanently deleted automatically.
Moving Items to Trash
You can move items to Trash from the Explorer:
- use the item menu on a document or folder
- select multiple items and use the bulk toolbar
When you move a folder to Trash, the folder and the documents inside it are trashed together.
Opening Trash
Open Trash from the workspace sidebar to review deleted items.
The Trash page shows:
- trashed folders and documents
- when each item was moved to Trash
- how many days remain before permanent deletion
Restoring Items
Select Restore on a single item, or use the bulk restore action for multiple items.
- Restored documents return to the workspace and disappear from Trash.
- Restored folders return with their contents.
- Only editors and admins can restore items.
Permanently Deleting Items
Trash also lets you remove items immediately:
- delete a single document or folder permanently
- delete several selected items permanently
- use Empty Trash to clear everything at once
Permanent deletion cannot be undone.
Only editors and admins can permanently delete items or empty Trash.
Automatic Cleanup
Items do not stay in Trash forever. Notoria automatically removes them after the 30-day retention window ends.
If you think you may need something again, restore it before the countdown reaches zero.
